XCL World Academy
XCL World Academy (referred to as XWA or XCL) is a subsidiary of XCL Education Group. Its predecessor was GEMS World Academy, which entered Singapore in 2014. It is a family oriented international school for students aged 2-18 in Singapore.
XCL is committed to providing comprehensive personalized education, including balanced development in academic (art, design, innovative technology, and sports), emotional, and social skills. The school has international certifications covering different education systems in Europe, America, and Asia, including IB, CIS, WASC, and College Board, making it a truly international school.
1. Ideal school size
The school is located in the Yishun area of Yishun, Singapore, with 72 classrooms, 3 science laboratories, 3 art classrooms, 1 reading room, 1 large outdoor playground, and more. The facilities and equipment are complete, and the hardware facilities are leading in Singapore.
It is worth recommending that in addition to a standard size Olympic swimming pool with a roof, there is also a unique indoor temperature controlled swimming pool, which is more suitable for young beginners.
XCL Jiahui World Academy is truly a "world academy", with over 1000 students from over 60 countries, making it a culturally diverse institution! The maximum number of students in the school is limited to no more than 1600, which is 16 age groups, with an average of no more than 100 students per age group. This fully guarantees the quality of teaching and also maximizes the diversity of race and culture in each grade.
2. Reasonable teacher-student ratio
At Jiahui World Academy, there are a maximum of 16 students in each class for early childhood education and kindergarten aged 2-6, with 2 teachers in the classroom (teacher to student ratio of 1:8 or less);
At the primary school stage of 6-11 years old, each class has a maximum of 25 students, and there are also 2 teachers in the classroom (with a teacher-student ratio of less than 1:13);
12-18 years old, with an average of 16 students per class and a maximum of 25 students (teacher-student ratio of 1:25 or less)
This is also a very ideal class size. If the number of students in the class is too small, it is difficult to create a learning environment that promotes peer interaction, group discussion, diverse thinking, and an atmosphere; There are too many students, and the teacher's focus on each student's learning will be affected. This is also why many high-quality international schools set a class limit of around 25.
3. Featured Course - XCL Bilingual Course
In the linguistic context of Singapore, although some schools prioritize bilingual education, English education is still the main focus. However, Jiahui World College provides true bilingual courses, and the proportion of Mandarin and English used in the courses is roughly equal.
Using bilingualism to connect all courses, parents of Chinese children do not have to worry about their Chinese language falling behind. For children whose mother tongue is not Chinese, this is also very helpful in improving their Chinese proficiency.
At present, the XCL bilingual program has been offered from the Pre-K 3-year-old class to the third grade, and will continue to be offered year by year as students grow. Parents and friends who are interested are welcome to come for consultation.
4. Excellent academic performance and competitive advantages in further education
In the 2023 IB exam, Jia Hui's average IB score was 33 points! Ranked in the top 10% globally!
Received over 200 offers from universities around the world!!
Among them, 12% of students have obtained bilingual degrees!
